Feel supported and informed – without judgment, pressure, or unrealistic promises

Dr Sue Peacock

If you’re new here – welcome. And if you’ve been with me a while, thank you for sticking around. I’ve noticed quite a few new people have joined recently, so I thought it was a good time to reintroduce myself, say hello and share a bit about who I am and why I do what I do.

I’m Dr Sue Peacock, a Consultant Health Psychologist. I specialise in helping people who live with chronic pain and long-term health conditions. If that’s you – if you’re navigating pain, exhaustion, poor sleep, or the emotional weight of it all – please know you’re not alone here.

Over the years, I’ve worked with many people who’ve told me they feel dismissed, frustrated, or just plain tired of trying things that don’t work. Often, they’ve been told there’s nothing else to be done. Or worse, that it’s “all in their head.”

Let me be very clear:

Your pain is real.

Your experience is valid.

And there are things we can do to help you feel more in control.

In my pain psychology clinics both online and in Milton Keynes, I combine psychological therapies like CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), Compassion focussed therapy (CFT) with clinical hypnosis and practical mind-body strategies to support people in managing pain, reducing distress, and improving daily life. My approach is about working with you, not just your symptoms – and helping you tap into your own inner strength, learn powerful tools and begin to live again – not just exist, even when things feel tough.

Through this blog, I’ll be sharing evidence-based tips, honest insights, and small, manageable ideas that can make a real difference. Some posts will focus on pain management, others on sleep, mindset, and the emotional impact of long-term health conditions. Think of this space as a quiet corner of the internet where you can feel supported and informed – without judgment, pressure, or unrealistic promises.

Wherever you are on your journey – whether you’ve had a diagnosis for years or are still searching for answers – I’m glad you’ve found your way here.

If you’d like to introduce yourself, feel free to send a message. And if there’s a topic, you’d love me to write about, I’d love to hear that too.

Take gentle care,

Dr Sue
